St Lucia Airports

A Comprehensive Guide

There are only two Airports on the island of Saint Lucia, one in the south, the primary international airport Hewanorra International Airport (airport code – UVF) in the south, and George F.L. Charles (airport code – SLU) in the north.

We’d like to familiarise you with the airports that serve as gateways to this tropical beauty of an island.

Hewanorra International Airport (UVF)

Hewanorra International Airport (International Flights – UVF) – Situated approximately 40 miles from the city of Castries, the airport is located near the town of Vieux Fort in the southern part of Saint Lucia and is the primary international airport on the island. This airport caters to international travelers from destinations such as – the United States, England, Canada, and Europe. The Hewanorra airport includes the usual facilities, amenities, shopping options, and simple dining options. The airport also has convenient parking with the facility to park short or longer term.

One important point to highlight is the fact that many of the hotels and tourist areas are located away from the town of Vieux Fort. What this means is that in most cases you will need to take a Minibus or Taxi to your destination. Soufriere – 20-30 mins, and to the north of the island, an additional 1-1.5 hours via sometimes winding uneven roads.
